One
About three years ago, I began to write down the vision I had been shaping for the next chapter of my life—a plan born from sixteen years of constant change which sparked the need to stay put, find a place to call home, and feel grounded. The constant moves, the shifting landscapes and the new beginnings have been an amazingly fulfilling experience and have led me to meet some of the most wonderful women, but they’ve also left me yearning for stability. I dreamed of planting roots, building my studio, and stepping into the life I had always imagined as a working artist.
Today, after months of transition, I find myself reflecting on what has kept me from fully embracing the career I’ve longed for. Yes, the demands of school, family, and finding a place to call home have each drawn from my time and drained my energy yet here I stand, after months of searching, doubting, and revisiting old projects, more determined than ever to bring to life the dream I so carefully crafted.
I write this down because I need accountability. My ideas and my thoughts most times overwhelm and paralyze me, but today I make this promise: for the next year, I will intentionally commit to my plan. I will carry through ideas one at a time, allowing myself to explore, play, and be curious.
I invite you to join me, to walk alongside me on this journey, or perhaps make your own promise to stick to your own plan, just for one year. Let’s see what unfolds.
Lean in with me.
